In the year 1997 Bishop Anthony Fernandez Bishop of Bareilly invited MMB to start a mission station in Bareilly diocese. As he advised St. Francis School Started in the year 1998 at Tanakpur. St. Francis School is an Co-ed, English Medium School affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is managing by Assisi Charitable Society of Assisi Province of Malabar Missionary Brothers. Rev. Bro. Bastin Karuveleil, Bro. Gonsalo Porathukaran and Bro. Sojan Paikada were the pioneer members of Tanakpur Mission Station. Bro. Bastin Karuvelil, Bro. Sojan Paikada, Bro. Francis Pynadath were the previous Managers and Bro. Jyothilal Mankottil (Late), Bro. Antony Pynumkal and Bro. Sunnylal Avirapatt were the previous principals of the school. Bro. Tom Alanolickal and Bro. Mariadas Chittillappilly are the present Manager and Principal. More over many Brothers has contributed their valuable services during the past twenty five years of the school history.
