Rt. Rev. Dr. Federick D’Souza, the then Bishop of Jhansi, invited Malabar Missionary brothers to establish a mission center at his diocese in the year 1992. We, Malabar Missionary Brothers whole heartedly accepted his grace’s invitation and two brothers were sent to stay and participate in the mission activities of Judepur Mission station during 1994. The congregation could establish a mission station on May 24,1995 considering the mission and vision of our founder Rev.Msgr. Zakarias Vazhappilly as well as the vision of Rev. Dr. Federick D’Souza. Brothers are entrusted with the responsibility of up keeping the farm house in the initial stage.
When we understood our mission of empowering the differently abled children who are ignored by their relatives and society and are isolated in the dark corners of their houses, Brothers with the fraternal love and blessings from the Diocese initiated a humble beginning in the name of ‘Arunodaya Special School’ at Judepur, Jhansi in 3rd July 1996.
‘Arunodaya’ began its humble service with just six children in a small room of brother’s residence itself. Arunodaya Special School sprout gradually by giving proper dedication and care to differently abled children. During the year 2001 a separate school was put up with class rooms and other facilities. In the year 2005 as the school was recognized by state government for inclusive education as well as the need of educating the children with hearing disabilities, we began started a section of hearing impaired as well.
Today with abundant support and paternal guidance of Rt. Rev. Peter Parappally and his team, Santhome Sevashram keeps accessible to everybody in the apostolic activities through her humble services. Bro. Bosco Nellamkuzhiyil MMB is the Manager of Arunodaya Special School. Bro. John Kuttikattu MMB is the Asst. Manager and Bro. Thomas Kollamparambil MMB is the Staff of Arunodaya Special School.
