Jyothi Ashram was started as a formation house of MMB on January 16, 1983.  Later the formation was shifted to Alverniya Ashram considering the lack of space and other problems. Then Snehalayam Boys’ Home was started in May 1993 for the needy school going students.  Through this ministry Snehalayam realized the dreams of hundreds of children and brought them to the mainstream of the society. But the J. J. act of the government affected the functioning of the Boys’ Home adversely and led to its termination.  A rehabilitation centre for the mentally challenged youth was started on November 20, 2022. 

Today 50 differently abled youth are under the care of Snehalayam rehabilitation centre.  The integral development of these youth are sent to the special school of FCC sisters at Kannara for better training.  Besides these ministries a hostel also functioning here for the degree students of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy.  Bro. Pauly Thrissokaran is serving as superior and manager.
